RED DRUM at SURFACE

“The red drum, one of my favorite fish to catch. So many ways and places to catch them. In this painting, I tried to depict an actual event. I had noticed during a day of fishing that the green water was reflecting the bright blue sky forming a split window view. On one side, I could observe the water’s floor, covered in seagrass and algae. On the other, the bright blue sky mirrored up and sparkled in my eyes, allowing me to see both the bottom and the top at the same time. That day I caught a small redfish. When excited, their tails glow a beautiful electric blue color, and from that experience, this painting was born.”
